Sponsor a Boy is a three-year commitment of $25,000 annually.

    Early Years

    THE JOURNEY BEGINS

    Zander joined Son of a Saint at age 9, beginning a journey that would shape the next decade of his life. His younger brother, Kyzer, would join soon after making this a generational story for the Dunbar family.

    A MENTOR FOR THE LONG HAUL

    Zander was matched with mentor Beau Martin, building a relationship grounded in guidance, encouragement, and consistency. Beau would also go on to mentor Kyzer, becoming an integral part of both boys’ Son of a Saint experience.

    BUILDING A FOUNDATION

    Son of a Saint provided tuition and educational support to help Zander attend high school. Unique opportunities, such as his Harvard summer experience, also enhanced his ability to thrive academically.

    Thanks to the generosity of our supporters, Zander has traveled beyond New Orleans, visiting Asheville, Washington, D.C., New York City, Florida, and Denver. Each trip broadened his perspective and offered new opportunities.

    FROM CAMPER TO COUNSELOR

    Over the years, Zander attended multiple summers at sleep-away camps as a mentee. He then returned as a camp counselor, mentoring and encouraging the next generation of boys as they began the same journey.

    As Zander grew, so did his commitment to serving others. Through community service and public speaking opportunities, he built confidence, strengthened his leadership skills, and became an ambassador for Son of a Saint.

    With the support of his Son of a Saint community, Zander earned a track-and-field scholarship to Tulane University, taking the next step toward his future.

    Zander graduated from Tulane University with multiple degrees. Today, he shares his Son of a Saint success story to inspire the next generation of mentees and supporters.
